Bar Mitzvah on Mars

An American family wished to celebrate their young boy’s Bar-Mitzvah with a 10-day visit to Israel. We took them on an unforgettable breathtaking adventure, discovering Israel through its unique places and inspirational people, while enjoying the highest standards of luxury. We also learned that the young boy’s dream was to join the mission to Mars. Raising the stakes even higher we decided to make his dream come true.

During their 10-day visit, the family discovered Israel throughout its length and breadth, visiting all the must-see locations, including Jerusalem and its old-city, Masada, the beautiful Golan heights and the Galilee. They’ve went through exciting challenges and activities such as RZR rides, Flying Buckeyes, a Jeep tour, breathtaking lookouts and much more, but the mission was yet to be completed.

We had a plan for a special day in a very special region of Israel, a day of encounters with exceptional people with inspiring stories about ancient traditions as well as technological and agricultural innovation, offering an enriching perspective of multicultural Israel and demonstrating a true manifestation of contemporary Zionism.

We experienced the spiritual climax of our adventure in an ancient bell cave under the old fortress of Safed, featuring a mystical candlelit performance of traditional musical instruments. The enchanting music accompanied us as we walked through the narrow stone alleys, visiting the ancient Synagogue and Jewish art galleries, finally reaching a unique winery specializing in organic pomegranates wine, chocolate, and cosmetics. We concluded our day with a tasting tour followed by a sumptuous dinner.

But the special day we’ve planned was still ahead. We arrived at Ramon Crater, one of the most extraordinary regions in Israel, for a day of immersive encounters with exceptional people whose inspiring stories about ancient traditions and technological and agricultural innovation offer enlightening insights into Israel and a glimpse of contemporary Zionism.

We started by getting acquainted with the Bedouin culture, had an opportunity to participate in a professional Tracking and Scouting ODT, and enjoyed the renowned Bedouin hospitality: a traditional feast, folklore music, and mesmerizing tales.

Now, all we had to do was head to Mars to make the boy’s dream come true. We went deep inside the crater on a research expedition, we’ve created especially for the family with the help of Israeli researchers who developed a one-of-a-kind site on earth: an experiment lab-simulator for astronauts and scientists working on the Mars mission. It’s almost impossible to describe the reactions, the pure delight in everyone's eyes as they watched the boy living his dream, surrounded by the people he loves. The family later said it was the best day of their lives; we are thankful and honored to have had the opportunity to give such a gift.

Feeling we deserve some relaxation at the end of this long, emotional day, we drove through mountains and valleys on our way to a sunset visit at a boutique winery in the heart of the desert.

After tasting exquisite local wine, we enjoyed a wonderful Italian dinner, chilled out in the cool desert breeze, and gathered around the dancing flames of the campfire, happy and grateful for an unforgettable adventure.
